Hey Mr DJ, I Wanna Be Just Like You!!!

Joseph Hahn is someone I am proud to call my idol. He can be a role model for all Asian teenagers who are interested in the media industry. I said media instead of music because, even though he is a musician and turn tablist for Nu Metal band Linkin Park, he is also their video director. There are also sources citing that he will be directing a movie next. If we take a closer look at the music industry today, I doubt we can actually see any Asian artist actually making any big splash anywhere in the English music scene. William Hung is a "legend" and Tata Young is only a trend, but Joe Hahn is different. In his 3 years of career in the music industry, he has already directed 9 music videos and won a number of awards for the videos he directed and co-directed. So what if he needed a few "ang-moh" band members to help him make the band, he still made it big. Not only that, he has been doing special effects for certain movies, drawing monsters for others. He is what I like to call multi-talented.
Why is he a good role model for Asian teenagers? First off, i think he has a relatively clean record. So far, I doubt there has ever been any reports on him getting in trouble with the law. Second off, he's Korean, which makes him Asian! So if he can do it, why can't we?! Before Linkin Park, I never thought an Asian could ever make it in the English music industry. Then there's his multi-talents. He is a DJ, a video director, he did comic art, he co-designed an album cover...the list goes on. How many people can actually do so many different things, and achieve close to excellence in all of them?
I think he's a genius in his own trade.
